FATCA:  Israeli Supreme Court upholds Israeli FATCA legislation

September 12, 2016

Israeli Supreme Court upholds Israeli FATCA legislation against constitutional challenge brought by Republicans Overseas Israel. The Court criticized the Government for failing adequately to protect the procedural rights of account holders.  Significantly the Court did not assess costs against us even though we technically “lost”.  The attitude of the justices was basically in the modern world the individual has no meaningful right of privacy.  We shall return to fight for individual liberty soon.   The Court will be issuing a formal opinion in the next few weeks.
